Taniwha Daffodils

Taniwha Daffodils can be seen alongside State Highway 2, with drifts of daffodils marking the roadside. This gorgeous site can be seen with the backdrop of the snow covered Ruahine Ranges in the distance. Come to pick, walk, ponder or picnic! Once again the Mabin family will open their gates to the public for the annual Taniwha Daffodil display this September. The event marks the start of spring in Central Hawke’s Bay and visitors will be treated to many hundreds of Daffodil varieties in bloom in their 20 acre, park-like setting. Families, groups, visitors and garden enthusiasts are welcome to come and wander through the daffodils, picnic, enjoy the sunshine and fresh air or pick up a coffee and snack from the ‘Coffee Shed’. PRICES: Entry is free PYO daffodils are $7.50 for a bunch of 30 or $4 for 15 Pre picked bunches are $15 (when available) Cash is preferred but eftpos will be available (signal dependent) and buckets are provided for picking.
