Te Aratipi Farm Tours
907 Okaihau Road, Maraetotara
Set off on an adventure through the essence of rural New Zealand with a farm tour at Te Aratipi Station. Situated on 3,000 acres of gently undulating to steep scenic limestone terrain, this farm has belonged to the Palmer Family for over a century.
Located atop the Maraetotara, merely 25km southeast of Havelock North, 5km from the breathtaking Waimarama Beach and 45-minutes from the Napier/Hastings Airport.
Te Aratipi, named for the notable peak soaring to 600 meters, holds great cultural importance for the local Maori, especially the Ngati Kahangunu tribe. It has been a place of education and strategic refuge historically, providing expansive views from the Gisborne hinterlands to the Manawatu Gorge.
Offering vistas that extend to the Mahia Peninsula and down to the Ruahine, Kaweka ranges, and even the Manawatu Gorge, it's an idyllic spot to immerse in the East Coast North Island's landscape.
Immerse yourself in our sheep and cattle enterprise as you traverse a real working farm with a real working farmer.
Classic Farm Tour
Experience a genuine working farm in New Zealand and learn about our extensive sheep and cattle operation. We will take you on a private, in-depth tour of our land, where you can meet our animals and see firsthand how we raise and look after them.
Our private 4WD tours are for small groups of 2-4 people. You will get the opportunity to ask your tour guide, Ed lots of questions and receive an authentic experience of farm life in New Zealand.
Stops on the tour include morning or afternoon tea at the Te Aratipi cabins, perched 600m above the Pacific Ocean with the most amazing panoramic views. A walk through the old woolshed and yards. Getting up close to the animals and if you are up for it, getting your hands 'dirty' and stuck into help (or witness) some daily farm activities.
